Red Wings sign prized prospect Lucas Raymond to three-year entry level contract

Winging It In Motown

The Red Wings have signed Lucas Raymond, one of their most-prized prospects, to a three-year entry level contract:

Raymond, The Red Wings’ top pick in 2021, had a breakout season in the SHL with Frolunda before going down with a shoulder injury that sidelined him for the remainder of the season and playoffs. In 34 games the 19-year-old registered 18 points (6-12—18). The last game Raymond suited up with in February, that means he should be close to returning to full-health soon.

What is unclear right now is where he’ll go. Raymond could join the Red Wings or the Griffins for the rest of the season. My guess is that the team wants to get him back to playing hockey as soon as possible.
