Sam Gagner hopes to stick around with Red Wings: ‘We’re closer than people think’ – Detroit News
“I feel like I can help a young group,” Gagner said. “I’ve been through that process before and learned a lot about myself as years have gone on about what works and what doesn’t, and I feel like I can help.
“The big thing is I feel like I’m a good player in this league and I want the opportunity to continue to play as long as I can, and I’ve really enjoyed it here and everything that has gone on.”
In terms of team balance, Detroit is going to continue to be a young team that needs a few key veterans to help out. As it stands right now we probably have too many of them, but I really like Gagner’s hustle and attitude. I definitely wouldn’t mind him having the opportunity to fill a role I think should be as competitive as the youth roles.
Taylor Hall trade rumors: Four potential landing spots for the Sabres winger – The Sporting News
There’s also the rumored asking price to consider: TSN’s Pierre LeBrun reported back on March 26 it involves a first-round pick. Plus, Hall does have a no-move clause but it’s doubtful he’ll use it in this situation as things in Buffalo have, obviously, not worked out.
Could you imagine Taylor Hall nixing a trade literally anywhere else, and in doing so claiming that he would rather stay in Buffalo? What a gut-punch that would be.
I don’t care about the Islanders, Bruins or Leafs here (Ok I do care, not the Leafs. Screw them). I am super-intrigued by Taylor Hall going to Calgary and possibly beating Edmonton in a playoff series.
