Red Wings at Blue Jackets 2: GDU, Lineups, Keys to the Game

Winging It In Motown

Game Day Updates

Technically, Smith and Veleno got put back on the Taxi Squad today. Likely they’ll be back up for gametime.

Dude scored his first NHL goal against us last night and this is his reward.

Or it could make perfect sense. Your call:

My guess on why Gavin Bayreuther was assigned to Cleveland :

The Monsters are trying to win first place in the division right now. The Grand Rapids Griffins beat the Chicago Wolves last night which means the race for the Sam Pollock Trophy is even tighter than before.

(Brian Hedger also reports he was told it was due to waiver rules, which makes this make sense. The Monsters have three more games this season, all against Grand Rapids. If Bayreuther plays game 10, he’d have to be put on waivers to head back there).

In all seriousness, I want to thank all the folks who have been with us this season. I truly love our fan community and how much like family this place can feel. I’ll be real thrilled to share the experience of the Red Wings’ rise to prominence again with you (which will come sometime after we all get to share the experience of not talking about the end of the regular season as though it’s a hard stopping point until next year).

We’ll keep the posts going but I already can’t wait until we get to start the gameday traditions again. LGRW
