Detroit Red Wings approach final weekend with gratitude. Here’s why – Freep
“I’ve always been somebody to stress appreciating what you have in front of you today, and appreciating the opportunities you have, and trying to seize on those opportunities.”
Apparently the answer is “because Jeff Blashill told them to. “
Vancouver’s Zack MacEwen has been suspended for one game for Kneeing Edmonton’s Darnell Nurse. https://t.co/lzPiQeu0sI

James Neal got five for doing this to Brad Marchand, but the video itself explains why this is only one game. It boils down to “he only INTENTIONALLY KNEED A GUY IN THE HEAD a little bit” so apparently it’s only worth one game.
I also want to take this opportunity to bring this up because it’s been a topic of conversation a little bit that the hit that got Tom Wilson a 20-game suspension was on an angle where head contact was unavoidable and if you watch how Nurse hits MacEwen, those are extremely similar angles in which Nurse finds a way not to pick a dude’s head from the blindside.
