We’re back at it for another early afternoon game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. After winning the shootout in a double-shutout (the 2nd consecutive for goaltender Thomas Greiss), the Wings and Bolts will finish out their season series today. Detroit has a chance to come out with four wins on the season against another of the division’s southern powerhouse team, having already done the same against Carolina as well.

Tampa outplayed the Wings pretty heavily but Greiss made the big saves he had to, Blashill made the right challenge when he had to, and the penalty kill came up especially large.

Tampa won’t be happy about having lost that point in their race to overtake Florida and Carolina in the standings.

Yesterday Ken and Mick talked about how Andrei Vasilevskiy might not play at all this weekend. I’m not certain if Curtis McElhinney will get the back to back or if Tampa will give the start to Christopher ‘Don’t Call me Thomas’ Gibson.
