Game Day Updates
Brind’Amour says McGinn likely will not play in the homestand but saw him today working out and said that was a good sign.

#RedWings Blashill said Bertuzzi, who hasn’t practiced since suffering upper-body injury Jan. 30 continues making progress and they hope to have a practice plan in place soon. He has not been ruled out for the season, even though time is running out.

Cool.
Finally, not strictly gameday-related but I wanted to share this news:
Red Wings prospect Joe Veleno, whose season in the SHL is over, has been recalled by Wings. Weeklong quarantine begins Sunday, then eligible to play.

1. Don’t Hurt the Trade Assets
Take this both ways – Don’t anybody get hurt and everybody play a good game. I’m more worried about the long-term implications of Monday’s trade deadline than I am in the outcome of this specific game.
2. Play More to Win for Each Other than Stand Up for Each Other
It’s a fine line between a team coming together and playing a well-structured game in which they also don’t take any shit from the other team. We’ve seen hints of that of late. We’ve also seen hints of a team that can get a little too worried about “defending their honor” or whatever else you want to call it and getting their asses kicked where it matters just so they can skate into the locker room with the idea that “well at least they didn’t also bully us.”
3. Support the Goalie
Both ends of the ice this time. Score a lot and don’t allow many chances.
