Rematch time.

Detroit shook off an ugly 7-1 loss against Nashville with a 3-1 homecoming victory against the Blue Jackets. The Wings jumped on Columbus early and, aside from being less-convincing in the second period, generally controlled the game after an early 2-0 lead.

Zadina didn’t factor on the official scoresheet as much as he factored in the game. The guy was all over, creating room for his teammates. Dylan Larkin put up two assists and if it weren’t for his overarching hatred for goalposts, he would have scored AT LEAST one.

Mantha’s “demotion” to the 2nd line seemed to work out pretty well, although it is a little funny that his goal yesterday came when he was playing with Larkin again.

We’ll have to see if Blashill sticks with the same lineup and the 12/6 formation. A couple of the D-Men struggled in their own zone in yesterday’s contest so they’ll need to find a way to either improve on those performances or better shelter those players who struggled.

No gameday updates for the early-ish start again, but if anything hot drops before the puck, we’ll let you know.
